On November 5, the sixth round out of ten of the F1 French e-Cup eighth season took place at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Mexico.
After five first complicated rounds, Team Mentalism heads into Mexico being fourth in the championship, 68 points behind Team eRacing Academy in the lead. Fredrik and Kilcri are the two drivers lined up for the team, with the objective of achieving an important great team result to claim important points in the battle for P2.
The qualifying session appears to be great for Team Mentalism as Kilcri gets a spot in the Top 3 with a time of 1.14.227, and Fredrik seals P6 with a decent lap time of 1.14.506.
After a decent start, both drivers keep their position until F1_Romaninho spins on Lap 8/36, meaning Kilcri moves up to P2 and Fredrik gets P5. After the first pitstop, both Team Mentalism drivers get out of the pits in P1 and P5, after a spin from TRD_Nando broke MnT_Oroka‘s frontwing. A safety car comes out on track on Lap 17/36 and both Team Mentalism drivers decide to pit for fresh medium tires, meaning Kilcri loses the lead to MnT_Grimbows who stays out.
At the safety car restart, both Team Mentalism drivers charge through the field in order to overtake drivers that are on different strategies. On Lap 27/36, Kilcri and Fredrik are already up to P4 and P5, doing teamwork to grab P3. On Lap 32/36, Kilcri lets Fredrik through who directly overtakes TRD_Nando for P3. With no penalties, Fredrik finally finishes in P2, close to winning the race; while Kilcri ends in P4. After post race penalties, Fredrik seals his first podium in a while with P3, and Kilcri gets another Top5 finish in P5.
Team Mentalism scores 41 points in Mexico, being the highest-scoring team in this round for the second time of the season after Bahrain. Overtaking TocaRaceDrivers for P3 and closing on Team eRacing in P2 in the standings, Team Mentalism will aim to keep this momentum for Round 7 in the United States on November 19.
